Cormoran®Discovery Taq DNA Polymerase Kit

PCR performance depends not only on the polymerase, but also strongly on the surrounding reaction chemistry. Primer sequences, amplicon properties, template type, inhibitors and cycling conditions can all influence which buffer composition provides the best result.

The Cormoran® Discovery Taq DNA Polymerase Kit was designed to make this optimization straightforward.

The kit combines one Cormoran® Taq DNA Polymerase Hot-Start with three different 5× PCR Reaction Buffers, A, B and C. Each buffer provides a distinct reaction environment, allowing the same assay to be evaluated under three different conditions while keeping the polymerase constant.

Depending on the assay, the buffers may differ in amplification efficiency, robustness, specificity and tolerance toward challenging templates or sample matrices. Rather than assuming that one universal buffer is optimal for every PCR, the Discovery Kit enables users to experimentally identify the most suitable reaction chemistry for their individual application.

Once the preferred buffer has been identified, the corresponding Cormoran® Taq DNA Polymerase Kit with Buffer A, B or C is available in a larger format for routine use.

• Cormoran® Taq DNA Polymerase Hot-Start, 5 U/µl, 20 µl

• Cormoran® 5× PCR Reaction Buffer A, 400 µl

• Cormoran® 5× PCR Reaction Buffer B, 400 µl

• Cormoran® 5× PCR Reaction Buffer C, 400 µl

The supplied reagents are sufficient for approximately 100 PCR reactions with a final reaction volume of 20 µl.
