Five ready-to-use additives for systematic screening of PCR and RT-PCR assay performance.

Challenging sample matrices and reaction conditions can affect amplification efficiency, specificity and reproducibility. The Cormoran® (RT)-PCR Robustness Screening Kit provides five individually supplied additives to explore whether your existing assay benefits from modified reaction conditions.

Designed for assay development and troubleshooting, the kit allows you to compare five additive conditions against a control using your existing polymerase or reverse transcriptase, buffer system and primer–probe setup.

Simple screening workflow

For an initial screen, add 2 µL of one additive per 20 µL reaction, replacing an equivalent volume of water to maintain the final reaction volume. Test each additive separately and include a matched control without additive. Keep all other reaction components and cycling conditions identical.

Evaluate the results using parameters relevant to your assay, such as Cq, product yield, specificity and reproducibility. Promising conditions can then be investigated through concentration titration and confirmed in the intended sample matrix.

• Five individually labelled additives: Additive 1–5

• 200 µL per vial

• Sufficient for 100 reactions per additive at the initial screening dose

• Suitable for screening in PCR, qPCR, RT-PCR and RT-qPCR workflows

• Individual additives available separately on request

Performance depends on the assay, enzyme system and sample matrix. The recommended starting dose is a screening condition; the optimal concentration must be established for each application.

All reagents are produced in-house by Cormoran Biotech in Germany. Each additive is also available individually and in custom fill volumes on request.
